CAE EXAM IS OVER~~!!

Today I had to do the written part of the exam, which consisted of: Reading, Writing, Use of English & Listening. It lasted from 9.00 am to 2.45 pm. It was probably one of the most exhausting things I have ever done, mentally speaking. The Reading part was actually easy and so were the Use of English and the Writing. I tried to understand as much as I could in the Listening part, but the acoustic in that room wasn't exactly excellent... I'm pretty sure I did the last paper right, can't say the same for the first three parts, though. Actually, while I was filling the answer sheet at the end, I was just thinking, 'Finally! It's over finally it's over! I'm about to finally leave this room!' XD Yes, I was that desperate to get out.

As for the Speaking part... well, I hope it went well, but I don't know. I was talking to this British examiner with my American accent, lol! XD But I was told they don't really care about your American accent, as long as you keep speaking with that accent and not suddenly switch to British accent. The first questions were really easy, though. They were very simple questions about us, like, 'Where were you born?', 'How long have you been studying English?' and things like that. The examiner also asked me, 'If you could choose a place to visit, which one would it be?' and I answered, 'Well, London, because there are many things to see and also its history is very interesting.' And then, after I had answered, I realized how 'planned' that answer sounded like. XD;

In the second part, he gave me three pictures: one of two old women sitting at a table, one of two children hiding in the bushes and one of two snowboarders in the rain and I was asked to choose two and say what the people were talking about. I chose the two women and the children and then, while I was talking about the children, I said, 'Well, I think they're hiding something, maybe a treasure. You know how children are always doin' that,' which sounded totally American. XD

And then, obviously, I just had to panic during the exam. He asked us to discuss a few issues that we would put in some town that we wanted to build and gave us some pictures showing houses, parks, hospitals, schools and those kind of things. I totally panicked. I suddenly couldn't think of something coherent to say and just started babbling about how houses are important because people need a place to stay and how an hospital would be useful if somebody got injured. The other girl that was with me then said something about hospitals being always full and I couldn't even understand her, so I just kept babbling about hospitals. Then she said that parks would be something enjoyable in the town, and I said, 'Well, yes, they might be, but they shouldn't take up too much space, because we need it,' and then I started babbling about schools and parents wanting their children to have an education, and gah, I didn't know what I was talking about anymore. XD;

Then I didn't understand one question, but the following questions were okay. Actually, I'm not too worried about it. I mean, it could have certainly gone much better, but I just knew that something that would freak me out would happen. It was pretty fun to see myself panic mentally in front of the examiner, though. XD At least my exam was original, in its own special way.

But now it's over forever and that means that my real summer has finally started! So I won't be talking about school until September, so expect many random entries mostly related to fandoms and who-knows-what-else. :D

Well, tomorrow my aunt, my uncle and my cousin are coming here from Naples and they're staying with us until Sunday morning, so I probably won't be able to write here this week. I'll catch up with you guys properly after that! :D
