shugo chara! fangirling

Howdy! Sorry for not updating in so long. Also, Happy Halloween! :D

I actually have a lot of things to say, but this entry will be mainly about an anime that I've always been curious about and that I've finally started watching - that is Shugo Chara!. So yes, you guessed it, this is going to be a fangirl-ish entry. Anyone is free to jump in and fangirl with me, I'll be more than happy to! ♥

Warning: As every fangirling session, this post includes abuse of CAPSLOCK, lots of hearts ♥, insane keyboard smashing, a few spoilers here and there and... well, anything else that is considered 'fangirl behaviour'. You have been warned! Also, just to be clear, I've watched only till episode 16, but there are some spoilers that go beyond episode 16 because I'm too much curious for my own good. Enjoy the fangirling!

So... first things first.

IKUTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ♥ ♥ ♥ He's my favourite character if you hadn't guessed by the capslock and hearts. He's the kind of guy I like in every anime/manga, so it's only obvious that he'd be my favourite, haha. XD I can already tell he has some sort of dark past. I searched a bit of info about Shugo Chara!, so I know it has something to do with his father, but I didn't want to spoil myself. So now I'm pretty much like, 'I want to know more about him! Now! But I don't want to read spoilers! ARGHHH!' So yeah, I'm kind of going crazy about this, but I can wait. I can be patient. ...I hope Back to the main point. I like his personality a lot. And the fact that he has cat ears. ♥ ♥ But you know what definitely got me? His last chara transformation, Seven Seas Treasure. ASDFGHJKL HE LOOKS LIKE A PIRATE ASDFGHJKL ♥ ♥ ♥ You all know I have a thing for pirates. blame Pirates of the Caribbean and Disney for that. But seriously. He has the cape with a black skull on it, the eyepatch, the sword, the boots - he's a pirate! Which reminds me of PotC and Jack Sparrow, which is a really good thing. ♥ ♥ ♥ Oh, I wouldn't mind Ikuto making an appearance in the fourth PotC movie. (Or, well, someone cosplaying as him.) I bet he'd drive Jack crazy. But right now I'm only at episode 15 and he's not getting that much screentime. GIVE IKUTO MORE SCREENTIEM. (But I'm guessing he'll get plenty as I keep on watching.)

So, now that I've fangirled about Ikuto, I can move on. XD However, I do not like only Ikuto. Tadase is close second. ♥ ♥ Well, actually, he and Ikuto would be on the same level, but I like Ikuto a little bit more because he transforms into a pirate, so that earns him a few more points. Anyway, Tadase is so ADORABLE! ♥ ♥ ♥ I like him a lot, even when he does the chara change. LOL, I think it's adorable that he wants to rule over the world! XD And when he does his evil laugh, I cannot help but laugh as well! XD He's adorable even when he does that! And Kiseki! Ohh, Kisekiiiii, he's just HILARIOUS! XD He's undoubtedly my favourite shugo chara! I love it when he's doing one of his meetings and he's bossing everyone around and the other shugo charas ignore him (except for Miki) but follow him around anyway! He's so cute and he makes me laugh so much! XD

I like all the other boys as well. Kukai is so full of energy, it's nearly impossible not to like him. ♥ And, well, I admit, I like even Nikaidou-sensei, even if he's a villain. He wears glasses, so that's probably why I like him so much. XD; /has a fetish for megane characters but even without glasses, he looks good.

Now, as for the girls. Another scream is about to come.

UTAUUUUUUUUUUUU ♥ ♥ ♥ SHE'S AWESOME & COOL. of course she is, she's Ikuto's sister I like her personality. She's cold and aggressive when she wants to be and she has this 'don't mess around with me or you'll be sorry' aura, which is what I totally like about her. But I guess she'll soften up as the anime goes on. Characters with her personality usually do. Aww, she'll be adorable, I bet. ♥ ♥ Right now, she's my favourite female character, even if she is with the bad guys. I can't wait to see her shugo charas! Also, another thing that I liked about her? Her song. It's about butterflies. BUTTERFLIES. XXXHOLIC REFERENCE. WHICH REMINDS ME OF YUUKO AND WATANUKI. WHICH EQUALS INSTANT WIN. ♥ ♥ ♥ Oh, and by the way. CLAMP YOU ARE EVERYWHERE. Somehow, I always find references to their animangas, no matter what series I'm watching/reading. THEY ARE EVERYWHERE. EVERYWHERE, I TELL YOU.

Ahem. As for the other characters... I dunno. I like Nadeshiko/Nagihiko, especially when she does her chara change. ...Or, well, his chara change. I know he's actually a guy, so I'm waiting to see his boyish self, so that I can get a complete idea of his character. But I'll probably end up liking him a lot. It's just a feeling, but I seem to like all the boys in this series, so I think I'll like him as well. XD;

As for the other girls. I'll be honest. As for now, the only female character I really like is Utau. I'm kinda indifferent to Yaya. She's cute, alright, but she acts a bit... too childish for me. It's not that I don't like her, I just think she's an 'okay' character. I just don't pay that much attention to her. Maybe in the future she'll grow up and kick butt, and if she does I'll probably like her more, but as for now... I'm not that much interested in her as I'm interested in Utau or Ikuto or Tadase, for example. Same thing for Amu. I like her appearance, I like the way she dresses and the "cool and spicy" attitude, but I can't say for sure that she's a favourite character of mine. I don't know how to put it. I neither like her, nor I hate her. She's just an 'okay' character, but aside from that, I don't feel anything about her. And she's the protagonist of this manga, so the fact that I don't feel anything about her kinda worries me. XD; We'll see if my opinion will change as I keep on watching.

I am also looking forward to getting to know the other characters (Rima, Kairi, etc.), but for now I'll be patient and enjoy the series without rushing it. :D

And no, I'm not done yet. I still need to discuss the pairings! But I have weird tastes, so you've been warned.

Now I know that everyone pretty much loves IkutoxAmu (also referred to as Amuto), right? Well. I... don't know what to think about this pairing. Again, it's the same thing as before - I neither hate it, nor I love it. I haven't seen that many Amuto moments, so maybe that's the reason why I don't exactly know what to think of this pairing. However, I do like TadasexAmu. Not the 'OMG I LOVE THEM SO MUCH TOGETHER' type of like, more the 'Yeah, they're okay together' type of like. So, yeah. To put it simply, I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SHIP. XD; Which is yet another thing that worries me. However, I can already tell that Amu and Ikuto are canon. We all know how it goes. She'll eventually realize her feelings for Tadase were not that strong because she only liked his appearance, etc etc, while her feelings for Ikuto are real because she has gotten to know him better and she likes him for who he truly is, etc etc. Not to mention the obvious canon signal - she has the locket and he has the key. CAN PEACH-PIT MAKE IT ANY MORE OBVIOUS? /shot for obvious song reference

But I am actually looking forward to seeing more of the relationship between Ikuto and Utau. I know they are siblings and I know that she has a bother complex and thinks that she's in love with him. and who could blame her? I'd have a brother complex too, if I had a brother like Ikuto. Just look at him! And at his pirate clothes! ...okay, I'm obsessed with his pirate transformation, I know. Also, how and why do Ikuto and Tadase know each other? I want to know about any relationship they had before. And I want to see some Kukai/Utau scenes! I can already tell I'm going to enjoy this pairing. ♥

Wow, that was long! And... half-serious, too. except maybe for the part where I fangirled about Ikuto's pirate clothes. And Utau's song, which was a total CLAMP/xxxHOLiC reference.

tl;dr? I drool over Ikuto because he has cat ears and pirate clothes, Utau is awesome because her song is a reference to xxxHOLiC (which brings me to the conclusion that CLAMP are EVERYWHERE), I love Tadase and Kiseki to pieces because they're adorable and they want to take over the world and their evil laughs make my day, I like all the boys but I don't know what to think about the girls, and I don't know which pairing I ship yet, but I get the feeling it probably won't be canon.

I'm also going to read the manga while I watch the anime. Hopefully I will be able to keep up with both. XD;

And tomorrow I'm going to look for Shugo Chara! icons and upload a few in the next days. I need an icon of Ikuto in his pirate clothes! ♥ Now I'm off to watch Gossip Girl's latest episodes. Oh, the Chuck/Blair angst, how I missed you so~!

Ah, Shugo Chara... I've only discovered it recently and haven't gotten very far in the anime yet, but I like it a lot. :)

Purtroppo non sopporto la protagonista e quindi non lo segue molto volentieri questo titolo ma ci sono alcune cose su cui posso fangirlare (W l'Italiano!XD) con te! <3 <3

Inanzitutto adoro Utau!Lei e Kukai sono i miei personaggi preferiti e,ovviamente,la mia coppia preferita!*--*

Guarda, io l'avevo scoperto già l'anno scorso e mi aveva incuriosita abbastanza (più che altro per i personaggi, i quali alcuni già mi piacevano coughIkutocough) e ho continuato a ripetermi, 'Un giorno lo guarderò, un giorno lo guarderò'... per circa un anno! XD; E ora mi sono finalmente decisa a guardarlo come si deve!

Sinceramente, non so davvero cosa pensare di Amu... all'inizio la consideravo pure una specie di 'ragazza troppo perfetta' (la classica Mary Sue che si trovano nelle fanfics), specialmente per il fatto che i suoi shugo chara praticamente la trasformano in una so-fare-tutto-io appena si presenta l'occasione XD; Però diciamo che ora non ci faccio caso, preferisco concentrarmi su altri personaggi che adoro molto di più, come Utau, Tadase e Ikuto! ♥

Utau è fantastica, a dir poco! *__* E ovviamente adoro anche Kukai! E non vedo l'ora di vedere qualche scena di loro due insieme! ♥ Per quanto riguarda le coppie con Amu, non è che mi piacciano particolarmente per il momento... XD;

Allora forse potrei comprarlo, anche se io sono più una tipa da scans! XD

Lol, allora Amu deve averti dato parecchio fastidio! XD Sì, effettivamente le protagoniste come lei sono il motivo per cui mi sono allontanata dagli shoujo manga per passare agli shounen o comunque ad altri generi! XD; Non so te, ma ero arrivata ad un punto in cui ogni shoujo con protagoniste ragazze con poteri magici mi ricordava Sailor Moon e non ce la facevo a guardarmi ogni volta una 'versione diversa' di Sailor Moon! XD; Però per Shugo Chara! farò un'eccezione, visto che alcuni personaggi hanno decisamente attirato la mia attenzione! *_*

Cmq secondo me Amu era partita bene col fatto che voleva cambiare, etc, però io avrei gestito la cosa diversamente... Le avrei fatto mantenere il lato "cool & spicy" fino a circa metà serie e poi lentamente l'avrei fatta cambiare... Un po' come fanno le CLAMP con i loro manga... Però magari sono io che sono troppo ossessionata con le CLAMP XD;

Anche a me Utau mi ha colpito fin dal primo momento che è entrata in scena! *_* Aww, devi vederli insieme! ♥ Anche se mi dicono che nell'anime non ci sono molti momenti di loro insieme, tutto ciò che accade tra di loro si trova nel manga di epilogo di Shugo Chara!, ovvero Encore!... quindi sono costretta a seguire anche il manga se voglio vedere qualche sviluppo fra di loro! XD;

Però alla fine per 11 volumi potrei anche comprarlo, spero solo che arrivi in edicola! U_U; A volte certi manga qui neanche arrivano! Però Shugo Chara! è abbastanza popolare, quindi forse... *incrocia dita*

Ebbene sì!XD E' solo che non sopporto protagoniste che fanno di tutto per avvicinarsi al ragazzo che gli piace e farlo innamorare di lui PERO' non disdegnano le attenzioni di un altro ragazzo. Così che poi il povero ragazzo di cui lei è innamorata se ne innamora ma lei poi sceglie l'altro e lui si attacca al tram!Mi da troppo fastidio!*_*

Oddio, i triangoli amorosi! In certi casi, se fatti bene, mi piacciono da impazzire... ma nelle situazioni che hai citato tu non li sopporto! >_>; E comunque ci hai azzeccato in pieno! XD; Io sono ancora più o meno agli inizi di Shugo Chara!, ma da vari AMV che ho visto, ho già più o meno capito cosa succederà più avanti... Trovo sia davvero crudele spezzare il cuore di un personaggio in questo modo (soprattutto se è un personaggio che adoro ;_;)! >_> Potremmo organizzare una vendetta per tutti i personaggi che hanno subito questo trattamento! *_* *luccichio negli occhi poco affidabile*

SC!. ♥ It has a special place in my heart, yes it does. :D Though I would recommend with the series, not bothering with Party!, the third series, since it's kinda pointless and doesn't actually have any plot (and er, ruins character development. Bad Satelight. :|) But SC! and Doki!! are definately worth the watch, so that's 101 episodes for you to enjoy. ;) There's also Encore! for the manga, too, which is just so much fangirly squee. Which... is when most of the Utau/Kukai stuff happens. Nout in the anime, sorry to say.

My favourite characters are Amu and Ikuto, mind. Haha. :D Though Nadeshiko, Kukai, and Utau kind of follow up right after them. ... In reality though, as you get to know the characters more and their flaws and such like, it's really hard not to like everyone. And I pretty much do love everybody in this show except Tadase. It's like Rima... you'll see what I mean about her when she shows up! ... but you end up liking her anyway. ;)

I'll make sure to watch all 101 episodes, then! ♥ Also, thanks for the advice on the manga, since I was a bit confused about which series to read after the main one. And now that I know that Encore! contains Kukai/Utau moments, I'll definitely read it! ♥ But why is there none of this Kutau stuff in the anime? That's so unfair.

Ahh, I'm pretty sure I'll end up liking everyone, then. XD And you've made me even more curious about Rima, which I already find cute, even though I don't know her, haha. But yeah, I'll wait until she shows up. :D

Encore! is like an epilogue. :] The main SC! and Doki!! anime follows the plot up to about volume 10, then stops. That's where Doki!! ends. (There's volume 11, which was done after the anime. That wraps things up.) Haha, I think it was because originally it was a fanmade pairing? There was one scene with them together part way through the manga and everyone was like, 'Oh man, these two would be great together!' and I think P-P realised that, lol.

Even Yaya comes into her own later. :) At first it's hard to like her, but then after a while she just becomes awesome. They all do~ Idk, there's some parts of Tadase that just bother me. I think it's more so the stuff he does later on which irk me the most, tbh...

Aww, so the anime is kind of... 'incomplete'? I'll make sure to read the manga as well... I couldn't stand not knowing the epilogue. Oh, Peach-Pit. They listen to their fans and give them fanservice, haha.

Really?! I'll have to keep an eye on Yaya as well, then. The more you tell me, then more I want to finish watching this anime, haha. XD
