Introducing my new fandom~ ♥
Howdy~! How are you all? I'm feeling rather good today, mainly because I have no more tests until the end of the semester, so I can finally relax a bit and breathe. Seriously, you can't even imagine how many tests I've taken during these days. It's scary.
Anyway~! As some of you may have noticed, I have a new fandom, which is Gossip Girl! I've been into it since this summer, but I never really had the chance to talk about it here until now. Don't let the name of the show put you off - it's much better than it sounds. I never really gave it a chance because of the name of the show - I thought it was the classic teenage-drama show where everyone breaks up and makes up like mad, but it's not like that at all!
Let's see if I can get even one of you interested in Gossip Girl, or at least a bit curious about, shall we?
The events in Gossip Girl take place in New York, Upper East Side. Gossip Girl is a unknown girl who knows everything about everyone and likes to spread gossip and such (it's never revealed who she really is, she's only the narrator - voiced by Kristen Bell), especially about Manhattan's elite. This elite consists of 3 boys and 3 girls: Blair Waldorf, Serena Van Der Woodsen, Nate Archibald, Chuck Bass, Dan & Jenny Humphrey. Although all of them have different personalities and different problems, they are all connected to each other. Blair is the bitch, Serena is the former it girl, Nate is the ever-confused guy, Chuck is the womanizer, Dan is a normal guy from Brooklyn and so is his sister, Jenny, a trouble-making freshman who desperately tries to climb the social ladder by being accepted in Blair's group (at first, at least). Blair and Serena are besties, and so are Nate and Chuck. Nate is Blair's boyfriend, but eventually she gets together with Chuck. Dan and Serena get together fairly quickly (he's had a crush on her for quite some time, then she disappeared for a year or so because of an accident with Nate - I think you can imagine what I'm talking about - and she notices him right after she comes back to New York).
It would be really too complicated and would take way too much time to explain the plot, because there's a lot of stuff that happens. I put it really simply.
Why watch it then? Well... most of us GG fans love to watch it because of 3 main reasons:
1) Blair Waldorf (played by Leighton Meester) - who is the coolest female character of all times. ♥
2) Chuck Bass (played by Ed Westwick, who is British!) - the most handsome male character of the show, along with Nate (played by Chace Crawford). ♥
3) Last, but definitely not least, one of the greatest, angstiest, funniest, most interesting pairing of all times - CHUCK/BLAIR. ♥
I could spend hours talking about how awesome and EPIC Chuck and Blair are together, seriously. Season 2 in particular is so full of CBangsty moments. This pairing is killing me - in a positive way, I mean. ♥
I'll spare you my Chuck/Blair fangirling for now. Basically, all you need to know about them is just that... they're EPIC. EPIC, I tell you. ♥
Here's the spoiler-ish part! Don't read if you haven't watched episode 2x16 of Gossip Girl!
I really enjoyed this episode. The Rufus/Lily parts where just lovely! Actually, I can't believe they finally decided to be together as a couple! Now they're all, like, 'who cares about my son dating your daughter? we're happy together, we'll figure something out eventually.' Aww, I love them~ ♥!
I really liked Blair in this episode, taking revenge on the new teacher because she gave her a B on her test. (She got angry at the teacher because Blair's trying her best to get into Yale, the university of her dreams and she wants her grades to be perfect, you see.) But there was a misunderstanding, so the teacher gave her A eventually, but Blair had already took her revenge on her (it was nothing too serious, though), so now her acceptance to Yale has been placed on hold. Her reaction? Here it is (don't mind Dorota, she's just Blair's awesome maid):
Blair (just out of the principle's office): Put that puppy down, Dorota.
(Yeah, they had a dog with them.)
Dorota: What happened, Ms. Blair?
Blair: It's what's going to happen that you should worry about.
Dorota: Oh-oh. Is it war?
Blair: Yes. But this one will be different. I need to wait for my moment, then I'm going black-ups(I couldn't really understand the line here). This war I'm gonna win.
GO BLAIR~ ♥! I want to watch the next episode so badly! I want to know what Blair's gonna do now! I can't wait~
Oh, and that CB scene where they're at the opera and she's running away to go and fix things with her teacher while he's drinking champagne? THAT WAS TOTALLY MADE OF WIN~ ♥!that's why I'm using it as the icon for this post I think it would have been soooo much funny if Chuck had turned to see Blair running and went, like, 'wtf is up with her?' XD
Chuck is made of win, too, for having punched his uncle Jack who was being a total jerk to him after Chuck's father died (which was a couple of episodes ago). Way to go, Chuck~ ♥
By the way, I'm so obsessed with this song right now~ ♥
Buy it, use it, break it, fix it,
Trash it, change it, mail - upgrade it,
Write it, cut it, paste it, save it,
Load it, check it, quick - rewrite it~
Now it's kinda late and I should really be going to sleep. Hope you have a great week-end, everyone~! <3
