cheerful mode: on

I went to the doctor again today, because I was prescribed capsules and I just can't swallow them; so I had the doctor prescribe me tablets instead. He was a new doctor at the practice and I really liked him! He made me feel at ease, was very friendly and smiled a lot. He asked about my law degree and I said I wasn't going to continue with it and that I'm thinking of going into Journalism or Web Design. He looked at me, smiled broadly and said, "Oh, that's very exciting!" He looked genuinely happy for me, haha. And I agree, it is very exciting. This put me in a good mood. :)

Speaking of web design, I found a PDA course in Perth College in Web Design that covers pretty much what I'm interested in. It should last only one year and it's a part-time course that runs from 6-9pm, which would be perfect for me if I got a job at Waterstones. It starts quite soon (in about a week and a half's time), but I should still be be able to apply for it. I asked a few specific questions about the course and am now waiting for a reply to my email before I apply. Hopefully there are no major entry requirements for this course, and if there are, then hopefully my knowledge of HTML and CSS, plus the fact that I've been designing websites for years, will help me in my application. But anyway, I'm very excited about it! This way I can see if I would enjoy studying computing, I can experience what working for clients is like, study at least the basics of some programming languages that I don't know very well and even get a certificate for it! :D

I also called in order to apply for a National Insurance number today. My appointment to prove my identity and submit my application for the NINO is on Monday morning, in Edinburgh. I would've done this sooner if I had known I needed one, but hopefully I'll get one before I get a reply to my job applications. From what I understand, I can technically work without a NINO, it just won't count towards my pension? Or something like that. I don't know how it works in terms of benefits and stuff like that. I've always been horrible at understanding this stuff.

That's about it, really. I'll go enjoy the rest of my day, since I feel so cheerful today. :D

P.S. I watched The Lion King II last night and now I have the song "Not One of Us" stuck in my head. XD

of disney and rants

I think I found a solution for my "too many icons" problem. Every day, from now on, I'm going to remove an icon that I don't use as much as other icons and replace it with a new icon. That way this process will not take me too much time every day and I can do it without pressure. :)

Andrew and I watched The Hunchback of Notre Dame today in Italian (with Italian subtitles for Andrew). He couldn't completely understand it, but he got the gist of what was happening and, for the way they were talking, it shows that he's getting pretty good. I downloaded the film in Blu-Ray because it was one of the few copies that had it in both languages and with subtitles and HOLY COW BLU-RAY IS AMAZING. I had watched Hunchback many times, but never in Blu-Ray and it was stunning. I NEED MORE DISNEY FILMS ON BLU-RAY. Anyway, he enjoyed it and thought it had very strong themes for children. That's why it's one of my favourite Disney films. It definitely doesn't speak down to kids, it's brutal and scary at times, but it's nothing children can't handle. Also, its music is just amazing. I love it so much.

In other news, it looks like I won't live in Dundee this year. I had a room rented with an establishment outside of university and apparently they do not want people who are not students to live in their buildings. However, apparently they're perfectly okay with taking money out of you to pay for the rent even if you can't live there. here's a rant )

here's another rant about my mom )

That's enough for one entry. I'm off to download more Disney films on Blu-Ray. Hopefully I will receive some good news about the place, otherwise I'm not going to be happy.

a rant on the film "Inception"

The past few days have been... weird. I've been feeling worse than usual health-wise and, because of it, I've missed all my lectures this week. Except reading some material for Property Law, I haven't done much this week. I feel like I should have done more, but I was feeling pretty bad and there's not much I could have done about it, so I'm not going to stress over it. I'm also feeling better today and I'm grateful for that.

I feel like there's a lot of stuff that I want to talk about (real life-wise and fandom-wise), but at the same time I don't know if these are 'spur of the moment' thoughts that will go away or if they're something I should really write down and get them off my chest. I guess I'll just wait and see if I still feel the need to write down this stuff.

Anyway, I watched Inception! Not sure I liked it though. spoilers under here, also a long rant )

So yeah... this post turned into an Inception rant, somehow. I didn't realise how much stuff I had to say about the film until I sat down and wrote it. Overall I felt like it was trying to be something 'deep' and 'amazing', but failed to explain its premise and the basics, not allowing me to really enjoy it. Sorry, Christopher Nolan. I love your Batman films, but this one really didn't do anything for me.

Anyway, if any of you guys wants to discuss the film, go ahead! I always love a good discussion. :D And if you have an answer or more to my questions, then feel free to post them! Maybe you'll help me fill the plot-holes!

I'm back, with lots of fandom talk!

I cannot believe how long it's been since I posted here. (Two months, I believe?) And just when I had made lots of new friends, too! ;w; I'm so sorry, guys. But I'm back! And oh man... I have so much to talk about, real life and fandom wise.

christmas, university, health )

fandoms: the hunger games finale (spoilers), all the books I've read over the holidays (which include George Orwell), the tons of movies I've watched... yeah, lots of stuff )

Well, that was quite a long entry! But anyway, I hope you guys are doing great! :D

♫ you are such a p.y.t., catching all the lights

Hello people from the awesome LJ → DW friending meme! I'm Chibi, nice to meet all of you! My basic info is on my profile, while a (sort of) intro post is right here. :D I also changed my DW layout for the occasion, haha.

This entry is going to be a mixture of fandoms and real life. We've had a lot of real life posts recently, so I want to balance things out a bit.

real life: back at uni, ereader, computer stuff )

fandoms: skyfall, the big bang theory, the hunger games, the it crowd; beware of SPOILERS )

And that's pretty much all. I need to start watching Once Upon a Time and finish the pilot of Elementary (but from what I've seen, I can tell I already love this show).

Also, I decided to start that 30-day meme that I posted some time ago, also in the hopes that it will make me update my journal more. Here goes! :D

day 1: something you hate about yourself )

That's all for today!

gossip girl community & possibly buying an ereader

Hello, guys! I'm not feeling too well today, so I decided not to go to my lectures (I only had two hours of lectures anyway) and instead write an entry here.

First of all: if you like Gossip Girl, please consider joining [community profile] gossip_girl! I offered to help bring the community back to life and I became the new admin! So now I'm promoting the community as much as I can, so that more people can join. Right now there's a friending meme going on, so everyone can get to know each other. I have many plans for this community and I really hope it becomes the "hub" for Gossip Girl fans on Dreamwidth. So, if you're a fan, please do join! :D

Now, onto other matters. As far as real life goes, everything is okay. Andrew was here from Monday until Wednesday and now he's back home. It was really nice to have him here and to be able to spend time together, just the two of us. ♥ We watched Scrubs, had a marathon of How I Met Your Mother (I want to watch the whole show and Andrew doesn't mind watching it with me. Now we're almost finished watching season 1), went around town - the usual stuff. We found an amazing shop which sells second-hand games/movies/tv series/etc. which has stuff at incredibly cheap prices! It has become our new favourite shop in town! I bought a game, Folklore, for the PS3, for just £12! It looks really good though, I can't wait to try it! Andrew has also bought me the Mummy trilogy (all three movies for just £5), which are my guilty pleasure movies. XD He has never seen any of the Mummy movies, so I'll make him watch all three when I go back to his house.

On another note, I've been thinking of buying an eReader for a while. reasons and self-doubting behind the cut )

So yeah, should I buy one or not? I thought I would ask your opinions on this, guys, before I bought one. Right now I'm eyeing the Kobo glo, which is coming out here in the UK on Monday, October 1st.

And that's all for this entry. I'm going to get something to eat now. :D Until next time!

Writer's Block: Home Sweet Home

Hello, LJ! First of all, new layout! I quite like it, I hope you guys like it too! :D

I cannot wait to see The Avengers. Andrew and I are going to one of these days, at the cinema in Perth. We've gone together to see Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows when it was released, too. Needless to say, I loved it! I liked the first Sherlock Holmes movie, but this one... this is what I was expecting from the first one. It was so brilliant, it seriously filled me with adrenaline and it was such an emotional roller-coaster. I'm a big fan of Moriarty and the rivalry between Holmes and Moriarty, I seriously left the cinema with a smile on my lips. This movie has definitely earned a place in my favourite movies list. ♥

On another fandom note, I've been watching The Big Bang Theory for a while - and by 'a while' I mean... some months. XD I never wrote about it 'cause it always slips my mind, haha. Anyway, I like it :D Sheldon has got to be my favourite character - he's just too funny and rational! Also, on a less important fandom note, I've also gone back to playing Phoenix Wright and Harvest Moon. So much fun!

For the time being, I'll just answer another one of those Writer's Block. damn they're addictive

[Error: unknown template qotd]
Well, I guess right now I kind of live in two places - in Scotland and Italy. Which, I must say, sounds like quite a nice combination. :D

Anyway. Technically I'm living in Dundee, as I spend most of the year here to attend uni. My parents and friends, however, are back in Italy. I have to be honest - I've always wanted to leave Italy and I don't regret choosing to study Law in another country. I would have never had the chance of becoming a lawyer in Italy, seeing as no one in my family is a lawyer - and nowadays that's what really matters in Italy, sadly - who you know, not what exactly you're capable of doing. It might sound absurd or overdramatic, but that's exactly what happens. I am ashamed to say this, but it's nevertheless the truth.

I've been living in Dundee for almost an academic year now and I quite like it. I know where all the shops are, I know where the places to eat are, I found an hairdresser quickly, there are a couple of theaters, I know where the medical centre is if I feel sick - I know my way around (I only need to learn how the buses work and I'll be an expert! XD). However, to be honest, right now I can't see myself living in Dundee after I get my degree. I do love Scotland, though, so I might decide to live here, just not specifically in Dundee. But who knows, maybe that'll change over the years? To be honest, right now my goal is to get my Law degree and then we'll see what to do from there. As my mom says, 'One thing at the time'. So I don't want to over-think this stuff now, also because it's kind of pointless to worry about it now, when I've got to spend three more years in Dundee.

Will I ever go back to living in Italy? Seeing the nature of my degree, I think that's a very remote possibility. I've actually been thinking of the possibility of convincing my parents to come and live in the UK. I think their shop would benefit from it, too. But again, we'll think about that once I finish my degree - there's really no rush.

just your usual fandom entry

I am here again! I seriously need to go back to updating my LJ more. I will do that, I promise!

Anyway. I am here today for a very important reason. That is, I NEED TO FANGIRL ABOUT MY NEW FANDOM - SHERLOCK. ANYBODY WANT TO JOIN ME? ♥

Spoilers, capslock & hearts. Yes, this is, indeed, a fangirling session about Sherlock. )

I've also watched Sherlock Holmes with Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law and I loved it! ♥ And you know what I just noticed? That all these actors that I love are doing something related to Sherlock Holmes. RDJ has done a movie, Benedict Cumberbatch is doing the BBC series... I wonder if some other actor will join in? XD It's like they all want me to read the books and get into the SH fandom. WELL IT'S WORKING

Ahem. Well, I believe I've fangirled enough for now. XD Oh, and I still need to go see the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie. By the way, I noticed recently that I'm waiting for a lot of movies to be released. I'm waiting for Iron Man 3, The Avengers, Harry Potter: The Deathly Hallows Part II, The Dark Knight Rises, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and, last but not least, The Hobbit by Peter Jackson! ♥ Oh my gosh, I'm so happy that Peter Jackson will be directing this movie! He's such a talented director and by far my favourite! ♥ ♥ Also, did I mention that Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch are going to be in it, as well?! SO MANY AWESOME MOVIES WITH SO MANY AWESOME PEOPLE, I DON'T EVEN. JUST. BRAIN CANNOT COPE.

On another fandom note, LEVERAGE IS BACK. ♥ ♥ ♥ I missed this show so much. I missed the awesome actors, ad well as the fantastic interaction between the characters. And the Nate/Sophie, oh gosh, I LOVE THIS PAIRING TO PIECES. ♥ Also, both Sterling and Tara are coming back in this season and I'm so happy about it, I love all the characters and I wish all of them would always be on the show. The plot is also going to be very interesting, as apparently someone is out to get the team... I can't wait for the next episodes!! ♥

And this somehow brings me to the point that... I had two dreams about Leverage. And one of them was the best dream ever.

Cut for dreams. )

Oh, and by the way. I WANT A LEVERAGE/SHERLOCK CROSSOVER. I know it's never gonna happen, but I seriously want to see those two series collide. Imagine the reactions of the various characters! It would be awesome. Although I think Christian Kane and Benedict Cumberbatch in the same scene would be too much for the tv to handle. Heck, ALL the actors in the same scene would be too much awesome to handle! ... That's why I started writing a Leverage/Sherlock crossover fic. XD By the looks of it, it's gonna be a multi-chapter fic and right now the prologue is done and I'm starting to write chapter 1. Who knows when/if I'll be able to publish it? I hope I can do it soon, but first I'll need to write at least a few chapters. Wish me luck! :D

Well, that's it for this incoherent fandom post. XD I still need to comment the season finale of Gossip Girl, which, to my surprise, I actually enjoyed a lot. ♥

And I will reply to your comments, guys! I'm just... really slow at it. /headdesk

me being an epic fail and fangirling

First entry of 2011... and I'm already telling myself I'm an idiot. XD; LMAO what a great start!

the tale of how Chibi managed to nearly delete all of her files )

On a happier note, I spent two lovely days with my parents. ♥ My mother's cooking was exceptional and we ate a lot of fish, as usual. Then we watched some movies - Benvenuti al Sud (literally, 'Welcome to the South'), an Italian film about a man who had to go work near Naples (my city ♥) and it was really funny! XD My parents and I laughed a lot and we loved it. I also felt a bit nostalgic while watching it - it made me realize how much I miss Naples and how much I love it. ♥ And then today my parents watched a movie with Denzel Washington - Men on Fire. I watched the first half of the movie, but then it got violent and since I don't like violent movies that much, I decided to stop watching it. XD; It was good, though! I enjoyed it. My mother really likes Denzel Washington and I think he did a good job in this movie, too.

Oh, I also watched a movie on my own on New Years! (That was before I deleted all my files. XD) I stayed up late watching the fireworks and after those I kinda felt in the mood to watch a movie and, since I had recently finished *coughdownloadingcough* it... I watched Iron Man 2!! ♥ Oh gosh, I loved it! spoilers under the cut! )

And that's all for today! I hope all had a great start of the year! ♥ :D

I am using this icon again because I'm in love with it

So... I was surfing LJ the last day to overcome my boredom a little and... I don't even know how I did this, but I came across two Italian friends of mine that I met on a YGO forum last summer (and I hadn't heard from them since then)... and it totally made my day! ♥ So, I would like to welcome [livejournal.com profile] mapi_littleowl and [livejournal.com profile] sonia_sama to my journal! Here you will find mostly my ramblings about real life and fandoms, along with a good dose of fangirling and some memes once in a while. :D I hope you enjoy your stay~ ♥

the tale of how Chibi didn't get to meet her friends in the end )

This afternoon I watched a movie called Not Since You. Guess what. I cried at the end. ;__; I seriously didn't think it was going to make me cry, even though the plot was pretty sad... but the ending, it just killed me. And the actors were amazing. ... Okay, I admit I wanted to watch it at first just because Christian Kane and Desmond Harrington were in it. XD; But the ending. THE ENDING. I didn't expect it to end like that, so yeah... that was what got me the most. ♥ Great job!

Mh, it looks like I'm doing a lot of memes these days. XD This time I was tagged by Beth ([livejournal.com profile] mist_ball)! I won't tag anyone, because I really don't feel like tagging people. XD; So just snag this meme, if you want to do it. Here we go~

♫ kiss me, infect me with your love and fill me with your poison

I has a LEVERAGE ANIMATED MOODTHEME! :D Isn't it awesome? I love it to pieces! ♥ I am using the mood 'amused' because the gif is amusing, lol I am enjoying season 3 a lot, more than I imagined. Thank goodness, Elisabetta Canalis is just popping up randomly every two/three episodes or so, thus she's just a guest star and hopefully she will be leaving Leverage after the end of season 3. This makes me happy. :D

On other fandom notes, I've finally watched The Dark Knight and Public Enemies! Needless to say, I love both of them to pieces. ♥ Johnny was brilliant as always and in my eyes he really looked like he was cut for the part (but then again, Johnny is such an amazing actor, he's cut for all the parts they give him) and Christian Bale was made of pure win as well! In fact, I think I have become a fan of him after seeing those two movies. I am going to check out as many movies as possible with him, because now he's got me curious and I want to see more of his acting! :D And now I can't wait for The Dark Knight Rises! Which will probably come out in 2012, so that's two years of waiting... but it's okay, I'm patient. XD

Oh, and episode 4x09 of Gossip Girl? Win. Pure, utter and total W-I-N. Seriously. Except for Jenny, Vanessa and Juliet, who I found obnoxious as always, everything was fantastic. And by everything, I mean especially Chuck and Blair. Some of the best lines ever. cut for possible spoilers + a little video )

I was going to write a much longer entry, but right now I'm half-asleep and too lazy to write anything else. XD; I've also been tagged in a couple of memes, so I shall be doing those in my next entry. Until next time! :D

♫ don't let go, never give up, it's such a wonderful life

Hiya, guys! I haven't been really active on eljay lately, sorry about that! I'm very busy these days because I'm in the process of revamping/converting my fanlistings and it takes a lot of time (more info over at [livejournal.com profile] alieterne, for those interested).

The weather has been absurdly weird these days. First it's sunny, then it's cloudy, then sunny again and then, all of a sudden, it starts raining heavily. Today, too, there was another thunderstorm this morning when I woke up until after lunchtime and now it's super sunny. WTH WEATHER PLEASE STAY SUNNY. I don't like this weather.

My mother bought a movie on DVD a couple of days ago - Hachiko, the one with Richard Gere. So we watched it. It wasn't exactly the smartest thing to do, because I ended up crying my heart out for half the movie and then clung to my kitty cat like there's no tomorrow (and she licked my nose as to say, 'It's alright, I'm here.' Awww, my sweet Milu! ♥). I am such a crybaby when it comes to dramatic movies. Especially those about animals. I guess having animals has made me more sensible about these kind of things. My mother cried a lot, too. And the most absurd thing is that I knew it was gonna make me cry, because I knew the story of Hachiko because I played TWEWY, but I watched it anyway. Talk about how to consciously hurt yourself. XD

Well, now it's meme time! I've been tagged by [livejournal.com profile] mist_ball 8D

♫ honey, oh, sugar sugar

No school today~ It's Student's Day in Italy, so we students can take the day off! :D

Anyway, I feel really proud of myself. I've finished my German homework. I had to do a research on divorce which I will have to talk about in front of the class. First I wrote it in Italian, then I translated it in German (all by myself!) and I got my mistakes corrected by one of my classmates who speaks German very well - and, much to my surprise, I hadn't even made that many mistakes! I feel so good now that it's done. Well, I still need to make a power point file about divorce, but the most part is done. ♥ I'll definitely get a good mark on this! *is really determined*

This morning I woke up and it was 9 am. It's kind of weird, because I usually sleep until 10 or 10,30. Since I had nothing to do apart from german homework, I watched some films. Two were Italian films with three great italian actors (Aldo, Giovanni & Giacomo) who always make me laugh, the last one was The Astronaut's Wife with Johnny Depp. ♥ It kind of scared me. I don't really like films about aliens and that kind of stuff - but Johnny did a wonderful job, as always! :D In fact, I watched it because Johnny was in it. He's so awesome~ ♥

♫ 'cause the way that you move is so demanding

No school today~ Actually, there's no school til Monday. yay for italian holiday!

...alright, truth to be told, today there was school, but I didn't go. I had a maths test today, but I didn't really feel prepared for it, so I asked my mother if I could stay home and take the test another time. Strangely enough, she agreed. :D

I thought she would be mad at me, but she wasn't! Instead, when she came home at 7 pm, the first thing she told me was, 'Phone your dad and tell him we won't be home tonight. We're going to the cinema.'
I was about to say something like, 'Are you serious?! Aren't you mad at me or anything?' but I stopped myself and did as she said. XD;

I have to admit, I totally wasn't expecting this. My mother is so strange sometimes.

Anyway, at 8,30 we were sitting comfortably in the cinema. We watched Step Up 2 - The Streets. Since we had recently watched Step Up we thought of watching also the sequel. I really enjoyed it. I've always been a huge fan of street-dancing (or whatever you call it) and watching people doing those amazing moves is something I never get bored of.

Anyway, I've really had enough of my current host, so I'm seriously thinking about changing it. Does anyone know a good host with possibly cheap prices? I'd really appreciate if you could give me some advice. Thanks. :D

Yesterday I applied at [livejournal.com profile] new_sanctum. Guess which character I chose? (It's not that hard to imagine. XD;) Anyway, since it really does sound like fun, I think I'll apply also for other 2 characters that I'd love to play.

I watched "Moulin Rouge" some days ago and it's really good! The way they mixed tragedy and love with humor is just great! Some scenes really made me laugh, but the ending is so sad... I love that film! <3

*can't think of a good title*

Today I didn't go to school because I was really tired and I really needed to rest more.
Yesterday I asked my mother if I could stay at home instead of going to school and she immediately yelled answered, 'NO, you have to go to school!'. This morning she talked a little with my father, then came to me and said, 'You can take your own decisions, just be sure of what you do'. Okaaaay, if you say so... I obviously decided to stay at home. xD;

Anyways... I didn't do anything special. I slept for two hours, more or less. Then I played with the computer. Oh, but first I watched 'The Land Before Time' (Disney) in English. Every time I watch it I cry. I cry when Littlefoot's mother dies and then I cry when the little dinosaurs find the Great Valley. There's one thing that I adore of this film: the music. I love it.

*yawns* Now I'm going to bed. Bye bye. what a smart ending for a post xD;

Long time no see. ^_^;

Hi. ^_^ Yes, I know, I haven't written here for a long time. School (especially mine) is hard. U_U;

However, I had dinner with my class on Thursday evening. We had a lot of fun. xD But then, the day after we had the German test, which is not really funny. xD; I think I mixed possessive adjectives & pronouns all together. Geez. German is so confusing! ;_;
Today we had the first school assembly for all the morning, which is so relaxing... I really like it. ^^ Plus, we watched an italian film, "Notte prima degli esami" ("Night before the exams") and it was so funny! xD It's one of the best italian films I've ever seen.

Now I'm going to post some icons at [livejournal.com profile] afterain_icons. And I was wondering, would anyone be interested in a Sakura (from CCS & TRC) icontest? Hi, my poor little useless LJ. xD;

I haven't posted a lot, even if I was on holiday. However, I have been busy on my... DOMAIN ^_^! Yeah, a domain! I've bought it on April 15 and opened it on April 25. There isn't a lot, but it's just born, so... ^^; Be patient.
I must upload also Reflection, which is going to be my FLs collective. I've already made a new layout (featuring Haine from Shinshi Doumei Cross *_*), while the layout of E-P features Maron from Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne. Well, I'm a little obsessed with Arina Tanemura. xD;

Uh, I also watched Mulan yesterday. It's one of my favourite Walt Disney films, and... well, I wanted to watch it, so I did. xD; Well, I'm almost 15 years old, but who cares? I love it! <3 (Especially Mushu xD, he's so cool!) I even thought to make the new layout of Reflection with some pictures of Mulan! ^^

Anyway, yesterday I found my old exercise book with my scary (xD;) drawings on it. Well, I thought they were a lot worst, but, more I watch them, more I think that I'm not that bad in drawing. I also found an old page of a manga made by me xD, OMG! It's not completely a disaster, I mean the story was good, but the drawings... not so much. xD; *laughs* But now the problem is: I want to draw! I wanna do it from the bottom of my heart, but... I'm not very good. ;_; Oh, it's such a cruel destiny... And when I see the other people's awesome drawings... I become more and more depressed. ^^;

But now I'm leaving... and I think I'll probably start to draw again. xD;
Bye bye!
