I can't believe how long it's been since my last post! I've just been so busy, I don't know where my time has gone. So this will most likely be a pretty long catch-up entry on what's going on my life.

real life behind the cut: job interviews, getting a job, Dundee Literary Festival, updates on my freelancing dream jobs )

On the fandom front, I'm now rewatching Mawaru Penguindrum for the second time with Andrew and his sister (they are watching it for the first time). I'm understanding the plot a lot more this time around! Also, I started reading The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness (just in time for the Dundee Literary Festival!) and I've almost finished it. I hope I can read the whole trilogy before I meet Patrick Ness next week, but it's fine if I don't. I'm enjoying it so far. I love all the sci-fi elements and the mystery in it. I also started reading Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell just for the crack. This book makes me laugh so much. It's just... so bad. Eleanor & Park was horrendously cheesy and made me laugh at times, but this one brings badness to a whole new level. I shall review it fully when I finish it. But it's safe to say that I am enjoying it... but for all the wrong reasons. XD I somehow don't think Rainbow Rowell intended this book to be a humorous one. And for a not-humorous book, it's making me laugh. A lot.

So that's everything for now! :D I will reply to all your comments soon and hopefully I will be able to catch up on everyone's entries.

Yesterday was a really nice day. ♥

Oh, and here's another tale of fail on my university's part. cut for unifail )

In other news, my web design course starts tomorrow evening and I'm very excited for it. Also, I know I sound like a broken record, but Waterstones should contact me any day now for that job. Hopefully they'll send me an email soon.

I'm that weird mental state when you've just finished an anime and all you can think of is how brilliant it was and what an amazing thing you've just watched.

As the title of this entry says, I've finished watching Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Finally. I can't believe it took me so long, but I'm very glad I watched it. I wanted to watch it for a while now, then I started watching the first episode with Andrew and it quickly became "the anime we watch together". And yesterday we finished it together, thus becoming "our first anime". And I'm very glad this was the first anime we watched together.

So... what did I think of it? Well, I won't spoil the ending for anyone, but all I can say is... wow. The last three episodes were just so amazing. I didn't know exactly what to expect from this series or where it was going. Which made what happened even more shocking. The ending was just... so beautiful. It's just such a brilliant anime. I loved it and so did Andrew. The music was captivating and gorgeous, too.

I read the manga today, as well. I'm glad I did, because a few things got clarified. But in this case I'd advise to watch the anime first. The manga is only three volumes long and so I feel like some things happen too quickly. The anime might be slower at first, but the pace of the last 3-4 episodes is perfect, in my opinion.

I seriously don't know what else to say, other than it was great. I'll be writing a review on the whole series shortly in magazine format, so that I can put it into my "writing samples" for Neo, if they should ask.

So... who wants to fangirl about/discuss Madoka Magica with me? :D (If you're including spoilers in your comment, please put "spoilers" in the title of the comment. I don't want other people to be spoiled while reading comments for this entry in case they want to watch the anime. Thanks!)

So. Today, after having a nice lunch, I decided not to go out because it's really cold and the weather is kind of meh. So I decided to chill on the couch beside my cat and see if there was anything good going on TV. As usual, nothing caught my interest, until I came across MTV. So I figured I'd listen to some music, but unfortunately, there was no music going on. Instead, what was airing at 3:00 in the afternoon, completely randomly and out of the blue, I shall add? InuYasha. But not just any episode. It was the Final Act. And the beginning, too, If I'm not mistaken. So, after a few seconds of shock and excitement and basically being all, 'OMG MUST WATCH!!' (all of that during the opening theme), I ended up watching two episodes of the Final Act. Which made really happy, because a) I haven't watched InuYasha in so long and I kinda missed it ♥; and b) I can finally watch the ending! :D asdfghjkl I'm so glad I decided to watch MTV. ♥ Though, I think they should have warned that they were going to air InuYasha on Saturdays (and most probably Sundays, too). They used to advertise anime a lot more in the past on MTV, but now... you need to be in the right place at the right time if you want to watch anything anime related, I guess. Which makes me really sad.

Also, I recently found out that there is an ANIME of Iron Man. Just, how cool is that?! I watched the first few episodes subbed in Italian (heck yes) and so far I think it's good and it has an interesting plot (totally not related to the movies or the comics, as much as I can see). Anime!Tony is... just... asdfghjkl ♥ And Pepper is awesome, too, although she doesn't have much screentime. I want to see some Tony/Pepper! Gimme moar Tony/Pepper sceentiem, animators! D:

Also, on a complete random note, I was watching an episode of Meitantei Conan the other day and the murderer was a man whose surname was Watanuki. And the victim had left a message on a date in his agenda to identify the murderer, and the date was April 1st. This to show that a) I am easily amused, b) hitsuzen probably exists, and c) I am totally obsessed with Watanuki although that wasn't really that surprising, was it?. XD

And now... meme time! This one was stolen from various people. I had fun doing it. :D

Bold what describes you. )

NEW BLEIGHTON PROFILE IS NEW. I've finally made a new profile that I like! I really felt like it was needed. It's a bit long, but I'm pretty happy with it. :D

Is it just me, or are the days flying? I mean, this weekend went by pretty fast... but anyway...

Hey f-list! :D How are you all doing? I'm still surviving school here. This week is gonna be pretty busy for me. Here it is:

Monday: Italian test + German literature test
Tuesday: math test + possibly German literature oral test (because the teacher's weird like that, but I'm not entirely sure I'll have to do this because a lot of people who had to take the oral test before me didn't, so maybe she'll do them instead)
Wednesday: I don't plan on going to school on this day, because there's the school assembly and, from what I understood, it's supposed to be Creativity Day or something and we're all going to this place where all the students gather in our city... so yeah, I don't want to spend the whole morning just going there and doing nothing. I'll probably go on my own out of curiosity and maybe meet a couple of my friends and possibly go somewhere and have lunch with them, but then I'm going straight home. We're supposed to have 2 hours of P.E. in the afternoon, so I'm not missing any important subject anyway. Besides, I really need time to study, seeing as the next day I have an English literature test, a mock-test of the CAE speaking exam, plus a law oral test.
Man, I'm going to die this week... D: Fortunately the 1st of May is a holiday in Italy, so this week is going to end on Friday instead of Saturday. Yay! That means that this week there will be only 3 actual days of school. :D

I was so busy this weekend that I couldn't download Gossip Girl's latest episode. asdfghjklasdfghjkl I NEED GOSSIP GIRL. RIGHT NOW. D: I'm addicted to that show, seriously...

Anime-wise, I've started watching Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. I've watched the first 5 episodes and, well... I like it, I think... I mean, I was never a fan of those anime where people fight using giant robots instead of actual weapons and/or their own strength, so I'm not too sure about this anime, but I like it, nonetheless. I'll keep watching it because I love the characters! :D Simon is so cute and Kamina is so cool! Yoko has got to be my favourite character, though. I also enjoy the funny side of this anime, so that's another reason why I'm going to watch it.

I should also start watching Code Geass and Shugo Chara! because they intrigue me a lot. I'll probably do that when I have more time aka during the summer. In the meantime I could start watching Metal Fight Beyblade, since it's started only recently, so I can easily keep up with it. I also need to catch up on Tsubasa and xxxHolic's latest manga chapters... mmm, looks like I have a lot watch/read. :D; At least I won't die of boredom...

Well, random entry is random. :D But anyway, how are you doing f-list? I just want to talk to you guys... tell me anything, even the most random things ever and I'll gladly reply to you. Seriously, we can even start fangirling together about something... I just want to talk to you, guys. ♥
